Where are the Cast of Jingle All the Way Now?

Jingle All the Way (1996) was a hit then and is still one to this day. With a well-known cast, it is interesting to see where they all find themselves as we come to the end of 2020.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER — Howard Langston

You would be hard-pressed to find a generation that didn’t know all about Arnold Schwarzenegger. Whether they know him from his body-building days, as an action and comedic actor, as the governor of California (2003–11), or simply as The Terminator, his hard-to-pronounce name is known throughout the world.

Since starring in Jingle All the Way, Schwarzenegger has continued his acting career, and even taken a step into the world of politics. He has returned to the role of a Terminator a number of times, and in 2020 has become a bit of a star of the Twitter-scene, with a number of videos detailing his — often quite weird — home-life.

SINBAD — Myron Larabee

Known for his brilliant comedic acting, Sinbad was the perfect nemesis in this film.

The 1990s saw him play a part in a number of classic films and TV shows, including First Kid (1996), Good Burger (1997), and some Cosby episodes.

Sadly, Sinbad suffered a stroke in November 2020, with two of his children giving updates on his health and recovery progress. Thankfully, he is said to be improving every day, and we hope to someday see him back on our screens again — perhaps with all of these 90s films and TV show remakes he can put in an appearance?

PHIL HARTMAN — Ted Maltin

For many of the younger generations, Phil Hartman (1948–1998) is best known for his voice acting in The Simpsons, where he most-famously played Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz, among many others.

At the age of 49, Phil was shot to death in his sleep. His wife, the perpetrator, committed suicide shortly after. They left behind two children.

RITA WILSON — Liz Langston

The wife of Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson is a celebrity in her own right. With 79+ credits to her name, her strong, yet gentle portrayal held its own among some heavy comedic actors.

Liz Langston might not rate as a favourite character for Wilson, however, with a recent interview quoting her as saying: “This is the movie that haunts me. Why did my character not know that her husband Howard, who talks like [Arnold Schwarzenegger] and is played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, was Turbo Man. How did she not know that?”

Since Jingle All the Way, she has continued to add to her resume, starring in films, made-for-TV movies, and TV shows.

In 2020, while in Australia, both Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks were diagnosed with COVID-19 and were forced into isolation. While both fully recovered, they were two of the first well-known celebrities to return a positive test.

JAKE LLOYD — Jamie Langston

Things haven’t been so smooth-sailing for Jake Lloyd, the loveable youngster of the film.

He went on to star as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace (1999), a role that, while bringing him fame, also brought a lot of bullying.

The film was not a fan-favourite, and young Lloyd took a lot of the flak. His life became radically different overnight. His time was spent between school (where he was bullied relentlessly), and doing sometimes dozens of interviews a day. By age 22, he had retired from acting.

He participates in the occasional fan convention, and has managed to stay out of the spotlight, with the exception of a handful of arrests and charges.
